We are very thankful to them for all their assistance with regard to where to go, what to see, and which trains to take. They have a lovely apartment right in the old part of Bratislava. Everything was walking distance away!

The Bratislava castle dominates the skyline of Bratislava. It is huge, which the most amazing grounds around it and from is you have a spectacular view of Bratislava. Definitely worthwhile to go and see. (Photo by Jennifer Roos)

... and as luck would have it, we took a trip back in time and found ourselves at a duelling match. Well, with the look she gave me when she realised that she was being photographed, I made a hasty retreat to present time.

We were very fortunate to have the local symphony performing on the last night of our trip. They performed Carmina Burana, by Carl Orff, in the square. Entrance was free, and we sat at one of the many cafes on the square, listening to an excellent performance, while sipping wine.
