Comments: The Hedwig's Restaurant is situated at Aloe Ridge in the Cradle of Humankind, a World Heritage Site, right next to the Observatory Restaurant listed below.
We had a fantastic lunch overlooking the valley with a stream and waterfall. Apparently in the evenings they turn on the spotlights so that you can see that various animals meandering past.

  • Observatory Restaurant
Comments: The Observatory Restaurant is situated at Aloe Ridge in the Cradle of Humankind, a World Heritage Site.
The Observatory consists of a 25" (62 cm) and a 16" (40 cm) telescope. The 25" is a Newtonian/Cassegrain Bradford telescope made by the Rand Corporation in the USA. It is the largest privately owned telescope in South Africa and the largest professional telescope in amateur hands in the Southern Hemisphere.
We had a fantastic evening dining under the stars. During dinner they will come and call you to look at something interesting in the sky and explain the cosmos.

Comments: Fantastic atmosphere and excellent food, especially the meat dishes. A very comprehensive wine and spirits list. Katzy's is right next door. Here you can have your pre-dinner drink while listening to a live bank and relaxing in thier lounge suites.

Comments: This has been the first Club Med we've been to, and it was an truly memorable experience. You are pampered throughout and there are more activities than you can get through in a week.

Comments: Absolutely 5 star treatment and good game viewing! Just over 50km north of Okahandja in Namibia. They also have an airstrip if you wish to fly in.

  • Etosha Safari Camp
Comments: A very quaint place to stay. The lodging is very basic, but the dining and entertainment area, and the good food makes up for it all. It is 9km from the Andersson Gate of Etosha, so it is a short drive in the mornings to the park, and significantly cheaper than staying in the park.

Comments: It is a wonderful place which is well situated fro visits to Sossusvlei and Sesriem, and not pricy at all.

Comments: Although it is a bit of a drive, it was definitely worth while. The game viewing is just fantastic, accompanied by an experience game ranger. The staff at the lodge is friendly and helpful and the spa was just wonderful.
